ROCK HILL, SC, Oct 30, 2025 – 3D Systems and the Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company (Dussur), owned by Saudi Aramco and SABIC, established the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Company (NAMI) in 2022 to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program. NAMI provides metal and polymer 3D printing services, combining application expertise with 3D Systems’ hardware, materials, and software. NAMI focuses on Saudi Arabia’s defense and energy sectors and has reached three milestones in advancing additive manufacturing in the region.
- Energy Production and Distribution: Saudi Electric Company (SEC), has signed an agreement to acquire a 30% stake in NAMI to reduce spare parts costs, accelerate production and delivery times, and expand digital warehousing. The agreement supports collaboration between NAMI and SEC to develop 3D printing processes for energy infrastructure and develop a skilled workforce. 3D Systems will use its experience in energy applications to support NAMI in driving this transition.
- Oil & Gas Infrastructure: Modern Isotopes Factory (MIF) has signed a $26 million framework agreement with NAMI. The agreement covers manufacturing up to 2,000 tungsten core components for non-destructive testing (NDT) devices used in pipeline and welding inspection. The tungsten parts will replace uranium components to meet the requirements in Saudi Arabia.
- Aerospace & Defense: Lockheed Martin announced a collaboration with NAMI to additively manufacture military and aerospace components in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Lockheed Martin, which has operated in Saudi Arabia for more than 50 years, is working with NAMI to adopt additive manufacturing in the region. Parts made under this agreement will support aerospace and defense markets and contribute to supply chain development. 3D Systems’ Direct Metal Printing (DMP) technology will be used to produce the components.
Dr. Jeffrey Graves, president and CEO of 3D Systems said, “In Saudi Arabia, we’re witnessing a thoughtful yet rapid transformation across every aspect of the economy and society. Vision 2030, launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is building a vibrant, diverse, and innovative economy anchored by a strong local manufacturing base. This creates tremendous opportunities for disruptive technologies like 3D printing to thrive. Through our partnership with Dussur, we’re proud to contribute to this progress by bringing advanced application expertise and additive manufacturing technologies into the Kingdom. With NAMI, we can deliver everything from component manufacturing to the sale and servicing of printer fleets, enabling OEMs to localize production. Our ambition is to be a key technology partner supporting the Kingdom’s industrial future. We’re especially pleased to welcome Saudi Electric Company as a partner in our joint venture and both Lockheed Martin and MIF as key customers for NAMI moving forward.”
