ZURICH, Switzerland, June 29, 2026 – ABB will acquire Høglund AS to add integrated vessel automation systems to its Marine & Ports division, with the deal expected to close in Q3 2026. Høglund’s IAS, installed on more than 600 vessels, uses ABB 800M and S800 control hardware to automate, monitor and control engines, power generators and cargo systems.
Høglund is headquartered in Tønsberg, Norway, and is owned by Eitzen Group. The transaction includes Høglund’s operations in Norway, Poland, Romania and China, along with more than 80 employees. Høglund reported revenue of nearly €30 million in 2025. After the acquisition closes, the company will integrate into ABB’s Marine & Ports division.
Høglund develops an Integrated Automation System (IAS) for onboard automation, monitoring and control. The modular system is based on ABB’s 800M and S800 control system hardware platform and is designed for modern vessel operations. The IAS brings data from engines, power generators and cargo systems into onboard control workflows. The system supports safety, energy efficiency and operational performance across vessel segments.
