TAIPEI, Taiwan, Dec 3, 2025 – Advantech has added three new edge AI compute systems built on the Dragonwing IQ-X platform –  the AOM-6731AIMB-293, and SOM-6820. The systems are designed for industrial applications and combine industrial-grade processors, integrated AI acceleration up to 45 TOPS, and built-in 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Game-Changing Performance and Efficiency in an Industrial Setting

The AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820 use Dragonwing IQ-X processors in 12-core and 10-core configurations built on Qualcomm Oryon CPUs. They operate at speeds up to 3.4 GHz and support fast data processing and multitasking. Advantech reports that the processors use about 28% less power than comparable x86 systems during tasks such as video calls, web browsing, and Microsoft 365. For AI workloads, these devices are integrated with Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, providing up to 45 TOPS.

The AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820, which contain Dragonwing IQ-X platform, supports  LPDDR5X memory. The modules raise memory speed from 6,400 MT/s to 8,533 MT/s while lowering power use by about 20% compared with LPDDR5. They also integrate UFS 3.1 Gear 4 storage, which increases data transfer speed from about 11,000Mbps (PCIe Gen3 NVMe) to 16,000Mbps. For applications that need better shock resistance and longer service life, the systems can be configured with UFS 4.0 storage solutions.

Built for AI: Comprehensive AI & Multimedia Capabilities

The Hexagon NPU supports AI workloads, including large language models (LLMs) and pre-trained models available via the Qualcomm AI Hub. This allows developers to run applications in computer vision, machine vision, image-to-text conversion, and generative AI.

For multimedia applications, the Snapdragon Adreno 5th-generation VPU supports 4K60 full-duplex H.264 encoding/decoding. The Adreno GPU includes OpenCL, OpenGL, and Microsoft DirectX 12 support, delivering graphics performance suited for vision-focused tasks.

Seamless User Experiences with Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 and 5G

Advantech’s products use Wi-Fi 7 and 5G to provide high-speed, low-latency wireless links for industrial networks. These options support steady data transfer and communication at the edge. Wi-Fi 7 delivers multi-gigabit bandwidth and channel efficiency. 5G adds wider coverage and consistent throughput. Together, they support workloads that move data-intensive AI applications and remote operation. This level of connectivity enables the systems to handle real-time tasks used in edge AI and industrial automation.
