Andes Deploys ChipAgents for Chip Design and Verification

AI software reduces LSU customization and BIU verification timelines while supporting RTL, debugging and verification workflows.

SANTA CLARA, CA, Sep 14, 2026 – Andes Technology has deployed ChipAgents across processor design and verification projects, reducing a Memory Load-Store Unit customization workflow from 8.5 weeks to six weeks and reducing Bus Interface Unit verification from two to three months to about three weeks.

ChipAgents is fundamentally changing that equation by helping engineers move faster through some of the most time-intensive parts of the design and verification process.”

The memory Load-Store Unit (LSU) manages processor memory operations. Customizing the subsystem requires engineers to trace legacy RTL, analyze architectural dependencies and verify correctness before adding new functionality. Andes completed the work while maintaining architectural correctness.

Andes also used ChipAgents for Bus Interface Unit (BIU) verification. The workflow requires engineers to synchronize specifications, update verification environments and create tests for complex concurrency scenarios. The deployment also reduced verification stimulus generation. Tasks that previously required one to two weeks of engineering work were completed in one to two days.

ChipAgents works with semiconductor engineering data including specifications, legacy RTL and verification environments. Engineers use the software for processor design, debugging, verification and related development tasks.

Andes was ChipAgents’ first commercial customer. The companies are applying the software across additional processor development workflows spanning design intent, verification and tapeout.
