MORGAN HILL, CA, June 23, 2026 – ANRITSU’s SmartStudio NR (SSNR) and SmartStudio NR IP Performance (SSIP) software solutions now support 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) device testing, enabling engineers to evaluate low-power, low-cost 5G devices such as Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and wearables.
The software supports application-oriented performance evaluation, including throughput and power consumption testing. It also adds frequency-band configuration support for testing band combinations used in 5G deployments.
The SSNR and SSIP enhancements reduce development workloads for engineers working on 5G devices and improve development efficiency.
Product Overview
SSNR and SSIP application test software work with the MT8000A to simulate 5G/LTE base stations and core networks. SSIP can also measure high-speed data communication throughput. The GUI supports operation without requiring protocol skills.
The key features are:
- Support for 5G RedCap and application tests, including IP throughput testing, handover testing, power consumption measurement, and temperature measurement.
- Retrieval of band combinations supported by the device, including MIMO configurations and channel bandwidth, in a single operation to reduce test design workloads when evaluating large, complex combinations.
- Support for test scenarios that are difficult to reproduce on live networks, such as Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) and access control in disasters.
