Aras Recognized in Forrester’s 2025 PLM Wave for AI, Traceability

by | Jul 23, 2025

The leading PLM platform was recognized in a 2025 industry report for strengths in AI-enabled sourcing, traceability, and lifecycle management. The platform is designed to improve speed, scalability, and data integration.

ANDOVER, MA, July 23, 2025 – Aras has announced that it has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave: Product Lifecycle Management Platforms For Discrete Manufacturers, Q3 2025 evaluation. Forrester noted that, “Aras’ vision is to empower innovators with a data-driven and AI-enabled approach to PLM. It demonstrates above-par adoption compared with other vendors in our evaluation.”

Aras was invited by Forrester to participate in its PLM wave evaluation, receiving accolades across seven criteria, including:

  • Traceability: evaluates how the solution enabled traceability from requirements to design features, test cycles, and certification.
  • Ideation and requirements management: assesses how the platform captures requirements to initiate new product design and how it leverages technologies such as generative AI.
  • Value network / sourcing intelligence integration: looks at the solution’s ability to support the solution ‘design for availability’, including scenarios with material scarcity or supplier constraints and ensure the use of certified components or materials.
  • Part or subassembly reuse and support for CTO: considers how the solution promotes the reuse of engineered parts or sub-assemblies in configure to order manufacturing.
  • Sourcing: examines how the solution supports sourcing of components for agile product development and redesign using alternate sources or materials in response to capacity or constraints.
  • Bill of Process: focuses on how the solution manages the routings and processes by which a part or product is manufactured in different facilities, as well as its ability to simulate processes or workflows across different domains.

According to the Forrester report, “Aras offers superior functionality for ideation and requirements management, using GenAI to parse data sources into requirements. It offers detailed requirements to test linkages for traceability as well as component engineering functionality for value network/sourcing intelligence integration. Aras also excels at sourcing with multilevel supply chain visibility and dependencies, and its part or subassembly reuse and CTO embeds AI to maximize reuse. Its above-par bill of process offers standard or plant-specific bills of process and work instructions that are ready for the shop floor.”

“Today’s PLM needs to be intelligent, adaptable, and seamlessly connected – and that’s exactly what we’ve built with Aras Innovator,” said Roque Martin, CEO at Aras. “With AI embedded throughout the platform and architecture designed for flexibility, we’re helping organizations extend the digital thread, accelerate innovation, and navigate complexity. We believe being named a Leader in the Forrester Wave evaluation validates our vision and the real-world results our customers are achieving.”
