Graphisoft has introduced Archicad 30, the latest version of its BIM authoring software, alongside an expanded AI strategy, new subscription options, and tighter connections across the Nemetschek ecosystem. The release combines practical improvements for architects with planned capabilities intended to bring AI into more stages of design and project delivery, tells AEC Magazine.
Archicad 30 adds Dark Mode for Windows, improved wall visibility across multiple stories, expanded drawing label options, and more flexible documentation controls. Graphisoft has also updated Project Info management and made Navigator organization customizable, addressing everyday BIM management and documentation tasks.
AI is becoming a larger part of Graphisoft’s roadmap. The company plans to support Model Context Protocol, or MCP, although details about its implementation and availability remain limited. An updated AI Visualizer will offer users a choice of image-generation models, including Nano Banana Pro, with Graphisoft promising higher-quality visualization results.
Graphisoft is also developing AI Assistant to support product learning and best-practice guidance. A planned AI Assistant Spaces feature will let architecture firms create personalized knowledge bases from their own documents, potentially allowing the assistant to provide answers grounded in practice-specific information.
Beyond Archicad, Graphisoft highlighted Nemetschek Creator, a forthcoming cloud platform focused on early-stage design. Creator is expected to provide sustainability and feasibility insights, AI-assisted analysis, and connections to Archicad that help carry design intent from concept development into BIM. It is being positioned as a collaborative environment for architects, developers, planners, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
Graphisoft is also introducing Archicad Max, a subscription tier providing broader access to Graphisoft and Nemetschek technologies across AI, visualization, design intelligence, and connected workflows. MEP Designer and DDScad are receiving updates as well. However, several AI and platform capabilities remain planned rather than generally available, making Archicad 30 both a software update and a foundation for Graphisoft’s broader AI-driven design strategy.
