LOS ANGELES and SANTA CRUZ, CA, Aug 6, 2026 – Atoms and Joby Aviation plan to acquire and develop vertiport sites in Florida, New York, Texas and California to support Joby’s electric air-taxi operations. The sites are intended to provide aircraft landing, charging and servicing facilities, along with passenger transfers and last-mile ground transportation connections.
Florida, New York and Texas are markets where Joby is preparing for early operations under the White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP).
Joby has flown its first FAA-conforming aircraft and entered the final stage of FAA type certification. It has also conducted piloted flights in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.

Atoms Real Estate will develop the sites using its in-house architecture, engineering, technology and construction teams. The companies said the vertiports would serve as transportation hubs connecting electric aircraft, ground vehicles and ridesharing services.
