COVENTRY, UK, Apr 1, 2026 – Aurrigo International secured its largest manufacturing contract to date with Ultra Global, while its CEO, Professor David Keene MBE, was named Technology Leader at the West Midlands Leadership Awards. Judges, including last year’s winner Mitchell Barnes of RYSE 3D, recognized the company’s deployment of autonomous vehicle systems in aviation, a sector with high barriers to new technology adoption.
Aurrigo’s autonomous vehicles have undergone operational trials at 12 airports, including Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in the US, Zurich Airport in Europe, and Teesside International Airport in the UK. The company also received awards at the Business Desk Awards and the STAT Times Awards.
“It has been a fantastic start to 2026 for Aurrigo International, with three major awards secured and, equally important, major growth plans coming to fruition,” commented David, who received his MBE from Prince William in 2025.
“Technology is at the core of what we do, so it’s fantastic to be recognized in this field, especially when you consider the diverse and innovative nature of the firms we were up against.”
He continued: “Our Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo and Auto-Shuttle vehicles, not to mention our Auto-Sim software platform, are promising to improve the passenger experience and increase efficiencies at airports across the globe, all whilst reducing their carbon footprint by 60% when compared to using diesel tugs. That’s proving a very attractive proposition.”
Aurrigo International received the Innovation Logistics Solution in Air Cargo award from STAT Times at the World Cargo Symposium in Lima. The award recognizes the company’s deployment of autonomous vehicle systems in aviation logistics operations.
David concluded: “It’s always fantastic to be recognized by your industry peers and that’s exactly what the STAT Times award was all about.”
“We’ll use the hat-trick of awards to open new doors for us as a business and to reinforce to our fast-growing workforce that we are creating solutions that are changing the way airports work now and in the future.”
