SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Aug 13, 2025 – At SIGGRAPH 2025, Autodesk introduced updated pricing for Autodesk Flow Studio (formerly Wonder Studio), adding its first free tier and reducing the Lite plan from $20 to $10. The changes are intended to lower entry barriers so artists can use AI-powered 3D tools for animation and visual effects without upfront costs. These tools automate tasks such as motion capture, camera tracking and character animation, making them accessible to independent creators and smaller studios. The update comes one year after Autodesk acquired Wonder Dynamics, the company that created the technology.
Autodesk Flow Studio applies AI to handle complex VFX tasks automatically. This allows creators to spend time on storytelling instead of technical preparation. With a video clip, users can add CG characters to live-action scenes and render them. This process lowers the technical barrier to 3D animation and VFX.
Users can export AI-generated assets (e.g. clean plates, 3D scenes, alpha masks, camera-tracks) to tools like Maya, Blender, or Unreal Engine for editing. This approach speeds up animation and VFX workflows by reducing manual intervention. By offering these features without any cost, Autodesk makes advanced content creation tools more accessible. This supports artists, marketers, and digital creators as they develop skills and complete projects independently.
“Making Autodesk Flow Studio more accessible to everyone reflects our belief in a creator-first future – where AI empowers more artistic expression, not replaces it,” said Diana Colella, executive vice president of media & entertainment at Autodesk. “By lowering the cost barrier, more storytellers are now able to explore the ways new AI-powered tools can help them bring their ideas to life, regardless of where they are along their creative journey.”
The update adds a tiered model for the creators, from beginners to professional studios. Free and standard tiers join the existing Lite, Pro, and Enterprise plans, giving users options based on their needs. The free tier provides tools such as AI Mocap and Live Action. Advanced features, including Wonder Animation and Wonder Tools, are available through paid plans. The enterprise tier includes access to AI-driven workflows with support and data controls, allowing studios to integrate these tools while maintaining production practices.

“Running AI models at scale has traditionally been very challenging for tech startups,” said Nikola Todorovic, co-founder of Wonder Dynamics, an Autodesk company. “Our original mission was always to make our technology free and affordable to as many creatives as possible, but we had limited resources as a startup. Now, as part of Autodesk, we’re able to offer Flow Studio as a freemium product, powered by robust infrastructure and cloud partners – so more artists can tell more stories, no studio lot or multimillion-dollar budget required.”
The free tier and flexible pricing model for Autodesk Flow Studio complete its integration into the Autodesk ecosystem. The platform follows Autodesk’s existing offerings, policies and processes, providing a scalable environment. Autodesk has added the pro tier of Flow Studio to its media and entertainment collection at no extra cost, allowing existing customers to evaluate AI-based workflows without extra expense. The update is intended to support customers adopting AI in media and entertainment with tools built for accessibility and scalability.
