BAE Systems OneArc secured a four-year enterprise license upgrade to VBS4 from the Norwegian Armed Forces, covering virtual training and mission rehearsal systems, along with VBS Builder Edition, Blue IG, software support, and training services.
The upgrade extends the Norwegian Armed Forces’ use of OneArc systems, adding access to simulation software, rendering tools, and terrain generation pipelines used for training, mission rehearsal, and operational planning.
VBS4 supports simulation-based training, course of action development, mission rehearsal, and force design. The system models operational scenarios and supports decision evaluation within a controlled virtual setup
“This upgrade marks a major evolution in the Norwegian Armed Forces’ virtual training ecosystem,” said Rahul C. Thakkar, president of OneArc. “VBS4 delivers a new level of realism and flexibility, empowering soldiers and commanders to prepare for modern operational challenges across fully integrated land, sea, and air environments.”
The agreement aligns with the Nordic Defence Cooperation Vision 2030, supporting joint training and interoperability with Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and other regional partners using OneArc systems.
VBS4 is deployed across NATO and is used by more than 60 nations. It integrates Mantle terrain technology, Blue IG rendering, and TerraTools terrain generation pipelines to support simulation workflows and terrain modeling.
The four-year framework defines ongoing access to VBS4, software support, and system updates for the Norwegian Armed Forces. The agreement continues OneArc’s work with the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency, with virtual simulation used for training and mission rehearsal in controlled setups.
