ST. LOUIS, MO, June 25, 2026 – Belden launched PPC DiamonDrop, a single-fiber drop cable designed for last-mile/drop broadband deployments in FTTX networks, targeting telecom providers, rural broadband initiatives, and data infrastructure projects.
The cable is intended for outside plant FTTX work where field crews need a single-fiber drop cable for last-mile connections. DiamonDrop was developed to reduce cable-preparation complexity and lower the risk of fiber damage during field termination.
DiamonDrop is designed to support existing deployment standards and operational procedures while maintaining compatibility with common field practices.
Technical details include:
- The jacket peels to expose the 900 µm buffer without requiring special tools.
- The cable is compatible with industry-standard connectors and hardware.
- A durable, weather/UV-resistant jacket is designed for outside plant use.
- The cable supports aerial, underground-in-conduit, and direct burial applications, including 150 ft. spans under NESC heavy load conditions.
- Compliance details include RoHS 2011/65/EU compliance and available BABA-compliant options.
