NATIONAL HARBOR, MD, Sep 22, 2025 – Bombardier Defense has delivered its ninth Bombardier Global aircraft to the U.S. Air Force. The delivery was marked at Hanscom Air Force Base and adds to the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) fleet.

The U.S. Air Force uses the E-11A, part of the BACN fleet, as a high-altitude communications gateway. Often referred as “Wi-Fi in the sky,” the aircraft supports situational awareness and interoperability by linking air and ground forces. For nearly 20 years, the Bombardier Global fleet has carried out communications missions worldwide, bridging voice and tactical data between air and land, while overcoming obstacles like mountains and terrains.

“At Bombardier Defense, we are honored to see our reliable, high-performing Global aircraft serve the United States Air Force in critical missions worldwide through the BACN program,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, executive vice president, aircraft sales and Bombardier Defense. “We are grateful for the longstanding trust of the U.S. Air Force, and we look forward to continuing to support the operational needs of the United States.”
