BW Converting TexCoat G4 Validated by Aii, Fashion for Good

A spray finishing system is validated as a climate solution for reducing carbon emissions, energy use, and resource consumption in textile manufacturing processes

GREEN BAY, WI, Oct 15, 2025 – BW Converting’s Baldwin TexCoat G4 spray finishing system has been recognized by the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) and Fashion for Good as a verified climate solution for the global textile industry. Following trials and evaluation, the technology was added to Aii’s Climate Solutions Portfolio, confirming its ability to reduce carbon emissions and resource consumption in textile manufacturing.

TexCoat G4 replaces pad-based finishing with a non-contact spray technology that applies chemicals where needed. The system delivers 40–50% energy savings, reduces water and chemical consumption by up to 50%. It also eliminates waste during job changeovers, helping mills meet sustainability goals while improving profitability and production.

The system has helped us significantly reduce energy and chemical consumption while maintaining high finishing quality. Independent trials, such as the BluWin BAT+ study at our mill, confirmed these savings in real production conditions. In 2024, we also installed BW Converting’s Baldwin Corona Pure for textiles, which allowed us to achieve the maximum level of water repellency while eliminating an additional wash step from our process. For us, this means both improved product performance and lower resource use. Equally important, we have experienced excellent support from the BW Converting team and a very high level of reliability from their equipment. The validation follows field trials in Europe and Asia, where TexCoat G4 has demonstrated resource savings. As part of Aii’s registry, the technology will be visible to apparel brands and retailers that are sourcing solutions to decarbonize textile wet processing.
