Cloudera will integrate Mistral’s AI models into its hybrid data platform, giving enterprises control over where they run inference. The partnership also supports training customized models on proprietary data while retaining ownership of the data and resulting intelligence.
The collaboration addresses AI applications in industries including financial services, manufacturing and telecommunications.
It covers two areas:
- Model deployment: Enterprises will be able to run inference across private and public clouds, on-premises infrastructure and air-gapped environments.
- Custom model training: Enterprises can train AI models on large volumes of proprietary data. This includes using institutional records to create models tailored to their operations.

The collaboration of Mistral and Cloudera puts data, models, computing resources and operations under customer control. Customers can adapt open-weight models and choose where training and inference run. Customers also retain control over data boundaries, model ownership, governance and improvements.
