QUÉBEC, Canada, Nov 12, 2025 – Creaform introduced the CUBE-R M Series, a modular 3D measurement cell that automates at-line inspection for high-volume manufacturing. The system integrates the MetraSCAN 3D-R scanner to deliver dimensional analysis on the production floor. It offers three configurations to accommodate different part sizes and includes options that simplify integration into existing production lines. By automating inspection, the system helps manufacturers increase throughput, maintain quality, and lower production costs.

The M2 model inspects parts up to 2m long, the M3 handles parts up to 3m, and the M4 supports parts up to 4m, giving manufacturers flexibility in footprint, payload, and part size. The CUBE-R maintains measurement accuracy even in vibrating environments and on complex surfaces. It’s hardware-software integration enables smart offline programming, high-frame-rate 3D data capture, and fast cycle times through parallel processing. The result is higher productivity, consistent product quality, and lower operating costs.

The M Series offers configurable options to improve integration  across manufacturing environments:

  • Metrology-grade 3D scanning capability: The MetraSCAN-R BLACK+|Elite HD uses its 69 blue laser lines to deliver an accuracy of 0.025 mm (0.0009 in), 3,000,000 measurements/s and a measurement resolution of 0.015 mm (0.0006 in). These measurements are validated through acceptance tests compliant with the VDI/VDE 2634 Part 3 and ISO 10360 standards and carried out in ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratories.
  • Productivity Kit: This kit supports continuous scanning by running inspection and data processing at the same time, reducing downtime and improving workflow efficiency.
  • Removable Mounting Plates: The forklift-compatible kit includes optional pallets that let users preload parts and jigs outside the measuring cell, allowing faster swaps and less downtime.
  • Virtek Iris 3D positioning system: Using Virtek’s laser projection technology, the kit displays patterns to align parts and jigs, reducing setup errors and increasing processing speed.
  • Secure Remote Access Kit: The kit includes connectivity tools that let Creaform’s support team troubleshoot the CUBE-R remotely, speeding up repairs and minimizing downtime.
  • Dedicated sheet metal solution: This kit combines the sheet metal add-on in the Inspection module with the MetraSCAN 3D-R HD to provide repeatable 3D measurements for sheet metal parts.
  • Automation module: The digital twin module of Creaform Metrology Suite focuses on ease of use and performance, allowing operators to program and run robotic systems confidently.

“We believe quality control should drive production, not slow it down,” says Mathieu Desmarais, product manager at Creaform. “With the M-Series’ modular design, manufacturers benefit from turnkey yet tailored solutions that scale with their needs, maximizing throughput, system uptime, and accelerating the journey toward 100% inspection and zero defects, while staying future-proof for evolving manufacturing needs.”
