LÉVIS, Canada, Oct 23, 2025 – Creaform has introduced the HandySCAN 3D|EVO Series, a handheld 3D laser scanner designed to make data capture faster and intuitive. The series integrates a touchscreen display and photo camera, enabling on-scanner visualization and augmented reality (AR) features that simplify scanning workflows. With visual feedback and mobile design, the HandySCAN 3D|EVO Series improves scanning accuracy and efficiency in design, inspection, and manufacturing.

Creaform introduced portable 3D scanning over 20 years ago with the HandySCAN 3D. The system became known for its accuracy, ease of use, and quick path from scan data to CAD or inspection results.

The HandySCAN 3D|EVO series builds on the foundation with updates that improve usability and performance. It includes wireless operation through a mobility kit, an embedded interface, and a built-in display for scan validation and operator guidance. Made in Canada, the EVO Series is part of Creaform’s metrology suite and is supported by multilingual customer service for global users.

The HandySCAN EVO|Elite delivers a host of features, each designed to provide tangible benefits, enhancing precision, efficiency, and ease of use for professionals in 3D scanning applications:

  • Real-time visualization, access to parameters, and processing options on the scanner’s 4.3-inch touch screen display.
  • Augmented reality capabilities and documentation of the inspection process through photography, enabled by the addition of a 12 MP camera.
  • Easy onboarding and essential tools at your fingertips, including 3D manipulation (mesh) and scanning features such as high-resolution mode and clipping options, supported by the scanner’s user-friendly GUI.
  • Streamlined repetitive inspections and quality control processes enabled by the new auto-alignment feature.
  • An accuracy of 0.020 mm and a volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.015 mm/m powered by 46 blue laser lines (+1 extra line).
  • The 3D measurements through350 mm scale bar.

“As we unveil this innovative lineup, we’re not just introducing a product; we’re transforming how professionals across industries approach 3D measurement precision and efficiency,” said Fanny Truchon, president of Creaform. “A technology that keeps evolving over time, it again demonstrates that Creaform has been reinventing the future of industrial metrology since 2005.”
