NEW YORK, NY and AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, July 2, 2026 – Dawnguard has made its security architecture automation platform available for cloud-native systems. The software moves cloud security work from post-deployment review into architecture design, infrastructure generation and continuous validation workflows.
The launch moves Dawnguard from enterprise design partnerships to general availability after a year of platform development and customer validation. The company also opened a New York City office and raised an additional $3.3 million in pre-seed funding.
BNVT Capital in the U.K. participated in the funding, along with new investors Curiosity VC in the Netherlands and eCAPITAL in Germany. The new capital brings Dawnguard’s total funding to more than $6.3 million. New funding will support product development, AI-driven architecture intelligence, market expansion and international growth.
“Cybersecurity has become trapped in an endless cycle of detection, response, and patching,” said Mahdi Abdulrazak, CEO and co-founder of Dawnguard. “For twenty years, security was something you added later. That model was already fragile. Today, against an attacker running at machine speed, it becomes increasingly indefensible. When probing is continuous and cheap, the only thing that holds is what was designed correctly from the start.”
A New Category for the Mythos Era
Dawnguard said AI, autonomous systems and digital infrastructure have increased pressure on conventional security processes. The company refers to this environment as the Mythos Era.
The platform’s core functions include:
- Cloud Architecture Design: Teams can design secure and compliant cloud architectures before deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code: The platform generates production-ready Infrastructure as Code from approved designs.
- Validation: Dawnguard checks environments against approved designs as systems change.
- Security Drift Monitoring: The software tracks gaps between architectural intent and operational infrastructure.
- Shared Architecture Workspace: Engineering and security teams can work in a common environment for design review, validation and planning.
The platform turns security architecture into deployable infrastructure. It also helps teams identify insecure patterns during design and deployment.
“Every engineering team understands the gap between what was designed and what ultimately gets deployed,” said Kim van Lavieren, CTO and co-founder of Dawnguard. “That gap is where risk lives. Dawnguard closes the distance between intent and reality by turning architecture into enforceable code, continuously validating that systems remain aligned with their original security design. Security should not exist in documents, spreadsheets, or diagrams. It should exist in the systems themselves.”
Dawnguard plans to apply its platform across security, compliance, cost management, resilience, sustainability, performance and operations in cloud-native systems.
