ÜBERLINGEN, Germany, Sep 17, 2026 – Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems demonstrated the SkyStriker in early Sep’26, after signing a cooperation agreement at ILA Berlin in June 2026. The exercise tested the SkyStriker range and its “hand-over” function, which was performed at a distance of 80 km. SkyStriker launched from a canister to reconnoiter a target, then tracked and engaged it.
SkyStriker also operated alongside the SkyLark 1 eVTOL reconnaissance drone, which both companies cite as evidence that it integrates into Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks for “Seek & Strike” missions.
SkyStriker is an electrically powered loitering munition designed for tactical precision effects over long distances. Its range exceeds 200 km, and the loiter time runs beyond two hours. Electric propulsion holds its acoustic and thermal signature low, which makes the system harder to detect. It is in service in several countries, and is combat proven.
SkyStriker launches from ground vehicles, containers, aircraft, and the EuroPULS rocket artillery system, which is relevant to the German Armed Forces and other European nations. The system’s high-resolution video reconnaissance and tracking support precise engagement, which reduces collateral damage.

Under the agreement, Elbit Systems handles market development, while Diehl Defence takes on manufacturing, assembly, integration and qualification in Germany. Both companies say the cooperation answers demand for autonomous systems in Germany and would establish German production capacity if a requirement arises.
