
ÜBERLINGEN, Germany, Feb 6, 2026 – The President of the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Prof. Dr. mont. Dr.-Ing. habil. Eva-Maria Kern, and Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch signed a joint declaration of intent during a visit to Überlingen. The agreement links Diehl Defence and the University of the Bundeswehr Munich (UniBw M) to advance defense research, technological sovereignty, and academic talent development for the Federal Republic of Germany.
The University of the Bundeswehr Munich and Diehl Defence are setting up cross-disciplinary collaboration and translating those discussions into research and development (R&D) topics. The agenda spans aerospace, information technology, production technology, and economics. The two organizations plan to share expertise and resources to develop solutions for national and international challenges.

By combining academic excellence and industrial know-how, we can drive forward pioneering developments that will make our armed forces, country and Europe stronger in times of global challenges.”
