MEYLAN, France and BARCELONA, Spain, July 21, 2026 – Dolphin Semiconductor and INTERA Group are teaming up to help always-on devices sense and listen continuously without draining their batteries. The two companies will combine Dolphin’s WhisperExtractor (aMFCC) analog feature-extraction technology with INTERA’s spiking neural network (SNN) processing architecture, creating a joint reference platform for always-on audio and sensor intelligence.
The platform pairs analog-domain feature extraction with neuromorphic inference to enable audio and sensor monitoring at microwatt-level power budgets. The companies designed it to reduce power consumption below that of digital-only architectures in always-on sensing applications.
The reference platform is aimed at OEMs and system integrators building always-on acoustic and sensor intelligence into space- and power-constrained products. It gives device makers a validated starting point without requiring in-house expertise in analog front-end design or SNN development.
Dolphin Semiconductor and INTERA Group identified applications in wireless earbuds and hearables, hearing aids, smart glasses, smart home devices, and edge IoT devices, markets where always-on sensing and battery life place demands on power budgets.
