ORONO, ME and PLANO, TX, Aug 20, 2025 – Doosan Robotics has opened an authorized training center at the University of Maine’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) in Orono. The site, located in AMC’s B.O.T. Loft will focus on robotics, automation and networked systems, supporting workforce skills for industries adopting advanced manufacturing.
The training center will provide practical instruction in robot programming, system integration and industrial use cases, using both Doosan Robotics‘ systems and other robotic technologies. The curriculum is structured for students and the general public, providing accessible, skills-based education aligned with workforce needs. The center will be supported with training materials, lesson plans and educational robot kits.
The B.O.T. Loft at the University of Maine’s AMC serves as a workforce training hub, offering programs from K–12 through professional certification. With Doosan’s involvement, the center expands the range of technologies available in the space and supports the university’s goal of providing industry-focused, practical training.
This partnership expands Doosan Robotics’ U.S. training network, adding to its training center in Plano, TX. The collaboration is intended to support workforce development in robotics and promote the use of intelligent automation.

“Establishing a robust education ecosystem is just as important as developing advanced robot technology,” said Hyunsoo Kim, vice president of sales at Doosan Robotics. “By expanding our network of training centers and continuously enhancing our curriculum, we aim to nurture the next generation of robotics experts and drive broader adoption of intelligent robots worldwide.”
“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Doosan Robotics and to host the company’s first university-based Authorized Training Facility in North America,” said John Belding, director of the AMC at the University of Maine. “Partnering with a global leader like Doosan allows UMaine to offer direct, hands-on experience with the advanced technology that is shaping the future of manufacturing, and this relationship exemplifies our commitment to regional workforce development in the high-demand fields of robotics and automation.”
This initiative also benefits from the presence of Industrial Automation Supply, Doosan Robotics’ authorized distributor in Portland, ME, which provides regional manufacturers with access to automation and robotics solutions.
