SHENZHEN, China, June 25, 2025 – Elegoo has announced the launch of the Fiber-Reinforced Filament series, expanding FDM 3D printing’s performance and versatility. The new lineup includes Carbon Fiber Reinforced PETG (PETG-CF), Glass Fiber Reinforced PETG (PETG-GF), and Carbon Fiber Reinforced High-Temperature Nylon (PAHT-CF), offering improved strength and durability, starting at $9.99 USD/0.5KG. New types of filaments are in development phase and will be offered based on user feedback and application needs.
A survey floated by Elegoo found that most users have not used fiber-reinforced filaments due to limited awareness and higher material costs. “With Centauri Carbon, our FDM performance reached a new level. Now, we want to match it with equally capable materials,” said Chris Hong, founder and CEO of Elegoo. “Consumer 3D printing goes beyond toys. It’s a tool for making practical, everyday items, and we hope more people experience that.”
Elegoo’s Fiber-Reinforced Filament Series
PETG-CF (black/grey): This material uses PETG for strength and adds carbon fiber for firmness. It resists wear and holds its shape, making it suitable for parts that need to last. The matte finish minimizes shine and helps hide print lines. Common uses include fixtures, brackets, bicycle parts, enclosures, gears, latches, and automotives or machines. It also suitable to function outdoors as well.
PETG-GF (black/grey/white): Mixing PETG with glass fiber increases its hardness, wear resistance, and electrical insulation, as glass fiber does not conduct electricity. The matte surface helps reduce the visibility of printed layer lines. This material is suitable for insulating components such as electrical enclosures, internal structures in industrial machinery, tooling fixtures, bicycle pedals, connectors, and abrasion-resistant terminals.
PAHT-CF (black): This material mixes carbon fiber with nylon to create a blend that resists heat, holds up under mechanical strength, and stands up to chemical corrosion. It stays stable at temperatures as high as 194°C. PAHT-CF also sticks between layers, holds its shape, and resists wear from friction. Recommended uses include motor housings, engine parts, heat-resistant fixtures, gears, bearings, and metal-replacement parts in automotive and industrial settings.
