MILPITAS, CA, Feb 11, 2026 – Empower Semiconductor has introduced three embedded silicon capacitors (ECAPs) for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) processors. The devices address power integrity requirements in next-generation accelerator and data center platforms. The ECAP portfolio includes the EC2005P at 9.34μF in a 2mm x 2mm package, the EC2025P at 18.68μF in a 4mm x 2mm package, and the EC2006P at 36.8μF in a 4mm x 4mm form factor.
As AI processors increase in performance, power delivery and power integrity requirements have also increased. Embedding capacitors into the processor substrate is one approach to address high current densities and fast transient response. ECAP portfolio supports silicon capacitor integration at the substrate level for next-generation processor designs.
“Our customers are under intense pressure to deliver greater performance with tighter power margins,” said Steve Hertog, senior vice president worldwide sales, Empower Semiconductor. “These new ECAPs are a proven and practical way to deploy higher capacitance density into a smaller footprint right at the package level of the AI processor.”
Empower designed its new ECAP solutions for embedded use in AI and HPC processors. The devices pair ultralow equivalent series inductance (ESL) and equivalent series resistance (ESR) with wide-bandwidth, low-impedance operation. The design improves power delivery network (PDN) performance and power integrity. Empower also optimized the packaging to meet tolerance requirements for substrate-level integration.
