It covers a copy exact plus line at Microchip’s Oregon fab for U.S. MRAM and TMR sensor production

CHANDLER, AZ, Apr 10, 2026 – Everspin Technologies has signed a 10-year manufacturing agreement with Microchip Technology to expand U.S.-based production of MRAM and Tunnel Magnetoresistive sensor products and secure long-term supply. The deal includes a copy exact plus production line replicating Everspin’s existing MRAM facility in Chandler, Arizona.

“Everspin is expanding its manufacturing footprint to support the next phase of MRAM adoption, as customers look for both long-term supply stability and higher-density, more capable solutions,” says Sanjeev Aggarwal, president and CEO. “Our partnership with Microchip adds the production scale to support demand while continuing to advance our MRAM roadmap.”

Everspin will deploy its magnetic technology and manufacturing process at a Microchip fabrication facility in Oregon under the agreement. Everspin will retain ownership of the intellectual property and manufacturing process while using Microchip’s foundry services capacity.

“Microchip is pleased to collaborate with Everspin and provide foundry services from its large and expandable manufacturing capacity in our Oregon Fab,” said Michael Finley, senior vice president of Microchip’s Fab Operations.

The agreement will provide Everspin and its customers with benefits:

  • Increased wafer capacity to support growth
  • On-shore second source manufacturing for MRAM and TMR sensor products
  • Multi-year supply continuity
  • Expanded R&D programs for Everspin focused on MRAM technology development
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) wafer processing capabilities

Everspin will continue manufacturing MRAM and TMR sensor wafers at its Chandler, Arizona facility while implementing process transfer to Microchip. The company will use its 20 years of production experience at this site as a reference. Initial products from the Everspin and Microchip agreement are expected to ship in the second half of 2027.
