LÉVIS, Québec, Jan 14, 2026 – FARO Technologies and Creaform, businesses of AMETEK, are reorganizing operations to realign metrology and reality capture offerings. FARO’s 3D measurement business will combine with Creaform to form FARO CREAFORM, a business segment focused on dimensional measurement solutions for manufacturing and maintenance teams. FARO’s reality capture business will operate as FARO INSIGHT, delivering reality capture solutions that convert physical environments into actionable data.

FARO CREAFORM, led by Fanny Truchon, consolidates dimensional metrology to serve manufacturers through a unified portfolio. FARO INSIGHT, led by Dietmar Wennemer with Virtek Vision, centers on reality capture workflows, connecting field data, point cloud processing, and data sharing to support digital twin use cases across AEC&O, public safety, and geospatial markets.

“FARO CREAFORM is more than a consolidation. By combining the strength of two leaders, we’re opening possibilities that will empower industries to move from hindsight to foresight. FARO CREAFORM aims to become the undisputed leader in portable metrology”, explained Fanny Truchon, business unit manager of FARO CREAFORM.

“FARO INSIGHT’s approach is simple: we want to digitize the world. Our hardware and software solutions reduce ambiguity to help track building progress, document changes, digitize crime scenes, structures, mines, forests, and landscapes to provide insights customers can build on”, added Dietmar Wennemer, business unit manager at FARO INSIGHT and Virtek Vision.
