Firefly Acquires SciTec to Strengthen Defense Systems

Completes acquisition of a defense technology company to integrate AI-enabled software with space hardware, expanding capabilities for national security and space domain missions

CEDAR PARK, TX, Nov 7, 2025 – Firefly Aerospace has acquired SciTec to integrate AI-enabled defense software with its launch and spacecraft hardware, strengthening support for U.S. national security missions.

The acquisition’s benefits includes:

  • Critical Defense Software: Strengthens Firefly’s hardware with AI-enabled defense software for missile warning, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), space domain awareness, remote sensing, and control.
  • Big Data Processing: Enables cloud-based, on-premises, and edge processing of satellite data to support defense decisions for war-fighters, support national security applications, commercial  and and Moon to Mars missions.
  • National Security Programs: Expands Firefly’s defense portfolio for national security programs, including Golden Dome, with hardware and software for interceptor, hypersonic, and space domain missions.
  • Data and Software Experts: Adds more than 475 employees with multi-phenomenology systems proficiency, software development and technical expertise to deliver on a range of classified missions.
  • State-of-the Art Facilities: Adds data centers, modeling and simulation labs, mission operations centers, and classified infrastructure with six locations positioned near space and defense customers.
  • Robust Contracts: Brings robust contracts in support of the intelligence community, defense and national security agencies, and commercial customers.
