NEW YORK, NY, July 10, 2025 – Gauzy has introduced the first prefabricated smart glass stack for the automotive industry, designed to improve manufacturing efficiency and enable scalable integration across vehicle platforms. The solution helps streamline production and supports adoption of smart glass in vehicles.

The ready-to-laminate smart glass stack integrates dimmable films, conductive elements, and adhesive interlayers into a single industrialized unit, designed for Tier-1 suppliers and OEM glass fabricators. By removing post-processing steps, the solution streamlines manufacturing, reduces space requirements, and lowers production costs, making smart glass adoption accessible to new market entrants with shorter production timelines.

“This is a pivotal moment in the industrialization of smart glass,” said Eyal Peso, CEO of Gauzy. “By streamlining the production process and delivering a consistent, high-performance product, we’re empowering Tier-1s and OEMs to adopt smart glass at scale and speed, especially in key global markets.”

Unlocking New Opportunities in a Rapidly Growing Market

Smart glass is used in passenger vehicles and in electric, autonomous, and connected mobility systems. The global automotive smart glass market is expected to reach $25 billion by 2028, growing at more than 11% annually. The smart glass market is projected to exceed $20 billion by 2030, driven by demand for adjustable glazing that improves user comfort, reduces energy use, and supports flexible design.

With annual production capabilities exceeding 180,000 square meters (more than 1.9 million square feet) of smart glass film, Gauzy’s prefabricated stacks are positioned to support a spectrum of vehicle programs from niche models to large-scale OEM platforms. This scalable model supports operating efficiency and creates recurring revenue opportunities through Tier-1 and OEM channels.

Strategic Foothold in the U.S. Market & OEM Adoption Momentum

Gauzy is expanding in North America through a partnership with Hotlineglass-USA, a certified Tier-2 automotive supplier. This collaboration supports local manufacturing and meets domestic OEM goals for innovation and supply chain resilience. Several Tier-1 suppliers and vehicle programs are evaluating Gauzy’s prefabricated stacks for integration into production platforms from late 2025 through 2027, including electric and premium vehicles.

ESG and Sustainability Impact

Smart glass provides energy efficiency benefits in addition to design features. Gauzy’s glazing lowers cabin heat load, which reduces HVAC usage and improves EV battery performance. This aligns with growing automaker ESG targets and regulatory pressures to reduce vehicle emissions and enhance energy efficiency.

“Gauzy’s vertically integrated manufacturing and proprietary smart film IP give us a first-mover advantage in this sector,” added Peso. “This product represents a major step in the evolution of our smart mobility ecosystem, one that offers clear commercial, operational, and environmental benefits to our partners and shareholders alike.”
