
MALTA, NY, Jan 21, 2026 – GlobalFoundries (GF) has appointed Ganesh Moorthy to its board of directors, effective immediately. Moorthy previously served as president and CEO of Microchip Technology, bringing decades of leadership experience in the semiconductor industry to GF’s board.
With more than 40 years in the semiconductor industry, Ganesh Moorthy has led operations, product strategy, and manufacturing. He recently served as CEO and president of Microchip Technology, after earlier roles as COO, executive vice president, and board member, before retiring in November 2024. Before joining Microchip, Moorthy spent nearly two decades at Intel in senior engineering and leadership roles spanning manufacturing, product innovation, and customer-focused execution.

Ganesh Moorthy chairs the board of Ralliant and serves on the board of directors at Celanese, SiTime, and Ayar Labs. He previously served more than a decade on the board of Rogers.
