
MALTA, NY, Dec 4, 2025 – GlobalFoundries (GF) appointed Matthew Zack as chief corporate development officer (CCDO), reporting to chief executive officer Tim Breen and joining the company’s executive leadership team.
Zack has experience in corporate development, driving growth through acquisitions and partnerships. He will lead GF’s efforts across mergers and acquisitions(M&A), partnerships, venture investments, and post-acquisition integration to support the company’s expanding technology portfolio.
Zack joins GF from Synopsys, where he co-led integration for the $35 billion Synopsys–Ansys deal. He previously served eight years as Ansys’ global head of corporate development, completing more than 20 acquisitions and partnerships and helping grow the company’s market cap from $8 billion to over $35 billion. He earlier held roles at SAP, Ariba and FreeMarkets and serves as chair of the board at EdgeCase.
