BUDAPEST, Hungary, June 9, 2026 – Graphisoft will introduce the next phase of its Design Intelligence Strategy at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design in San Diego, where it will present AI-assisted design tools, open collaboration workflows, and the new Archicad-Autodesk Forma Connection.
As announced on May 13, the Nemetschek Group is bringing key components into a single cloud-native workflow covering feasibility studies, BIM, and lifecycle collaboration. Graphisoft is adding data-driven design tools for architects and engineers.
Open AEC Collaboration
Research shows that more than 92% of construction projects experience delays and budget changes, causing US$2.1 trillion (€1.8 trillion) in annual losses globally.
Graphisoft has introduced a Nemetschek Group-level initiative to support project coordination across design workflows. The system is intended to keep models, documents, issues, and decisions synchronized across teams using Graphisoft products and the Nemetschek portfolio. It will support industry formats including IFC, BCF, PDF, DWG, and RVT.
“The entire AEC industry has been missing an open collaboration layer, and this is a truly trustworthy, accessible alternative,” said Sylwester Pawluk, VP, product management – collaboration, Graphisoft and Nemetschek Group. “Our solution will offer a browser-based, multidisciplinary collaboration environment that brings architects, engineers, builders, owners, and operators into a common source of truth.” Early access is planned for 2026.
AI-Assisted Design
Graphisoft is also developing a web-based design intelligence system that uses AI and simulations during the design process. Users will be able to explore hundreds of massing, layout, and performance scenarios and compare them with project goals and constraints in seconds. The browser-based workspace will support stakeholder review without requiring BIM expertise. Developed by Graphisoft and scaled across Nemetschek Group, the AI-assisted design system is planned for access in October.
Archicad-Autodesk Forma Connection
Graphisoft is adding the Archicad-Autodesk Forma Connection through an Archicad update as part of Nemetschek Group’s collaboration strategy. The connection is designed for projects that require Autodesk Forma workflows, where manual workarounds can slow design teams and add project risk.
The Archicad add-on will allow users to exchange design models, documents, and project information from Archicad to Autodesk Forma Data Management in native formats. The connection lets teams remain in Archicad while participating in Forma-based coordination.
“The Archicad-Autodesk Forma Connection reflects the Nemetschek Group’s and Graphisoft’s broader commitment to open collaboration and customer choice,” said Márton Kiss, chief product officer, Graphisoft. “The integration allows firms to work more seamlessly across platforms while remaining in their preferred design environment,” he added.
Key benefits include:
- Fewer manual exchange steps across platforms
- Multidisciplinary coordination across Forma-based projects
- Native, secure exchange of project information
AI Roadmap
Graphisoft’s AI portfolio includes AI Assistant and AI Visualizer as part of its Design Intelligence Strategy. The tools support design analysis, visual review, and project evaluation during early-stage workflows.
In 2026, Nemetschek Group and Graphisoft plan to expand the portfolio and release a product update in October. The update will cover Archicad, BIMx, BIMcloud, MEP Designer, and DDScad, linking feasibility studies, BIM workflows, through open, data-based processes.
