BUDAPEST, Hungary, Apr 6, 2026 – Graphisoft announced the expansion of its rollout of MEP Designer, a BIM-native solution that enables engineers to create accurate system layouts. First introduced in October 2025, MEP Designer bridges the gap between traditional CAD methods and advanced BIM workflows by enabling engineers to model, coordinate, and document building systems. Available as a subscription-based product included in the MEP Designer Studio and Archicad Collaborate plans, MEP Designer is a unique and innovative BIM solution for MEP engineering that is:
- Built on the Archicad BIM core, the platform for architects, delivering BIM workflows between architects and MEP engineers.
- Easy to learn and use, with an user-friendly interface and modeling tools that automate and simplify the MEP design process.
- Flexible and adaptable, supports creation and modification of MEP models
“MEP Designer makes BIM adoption seamless for MEP engineers, delivering an intuitive, fully integrated solution,” said Márton Kiss, chief product officer at Graphisoft. “It simplifies design workflows, strengthens collaboration with architects, and increases efficiency through intelligent automation and parametric libraries – making BIM easy to adopt while remaining powerful enough for highly detailed work.”
Key capabilities include:
- Automatic generation of documentation, including floor plans, sections, schedules, and parts lists, based on model data.
- Built-in visualization tools and parametric libraries.
- Model coordination and data consistency for on-site and remote workflows.
- Integration with CALHYDRA through a dedicated interface, enabling transfer of water and HVAC system data for hydraulic calculations, with results returned to the model.
MEP Designer is available in select markets in Asia and Europe and supports both Windows and macOS.
