BOSTON, MA, May 7, 2026 – Hamilton Medical will replace its legacy ALM system and paper-based processes to PTC’s Codebeamer Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) software as it digitizes engineering controls for regulated medical device programs. The agreement also extends Hamilton Medical’s use of Windchill PLM, with both companies developing ALM and PLM integration for medical technology programs.
Codebeamer will connect Hamilton Medical’s engineering, risk management, quality, and verification and validation teams. The software supports automated traceability, audit readiness, and compliance workflows across product development.
The Codebeamer and Windchill integration will link requirements, testing data, and release decisions inside a shared product data environment. The setup is intended to give teams end-to-end visibility across medical device development and product lifecycle processes.
“This collaboration positions us at the forefront of industry-specific software development,” said Jim Giger, director of research and development at Hamilton Medical. “Given the critical role our products play in patient care, our development processes must be both uncompromisingly rigorous and highly adaptable. PTC’s ALM solution empowers us to adhere to risk-centric development practices while retaining the flexibility to respond to evolving product and regulatory demands, ultimately supporting safe, scalable innovation across our portfolio.”
Hamilton Medical and PTC will work on standardized medical technology software capabilities and Codebeamer-Windchill integration. Hamilton Medical will contribute experience in critical medical device development processes, methods, and tool usage. PTC will use those inputs to develop market-specific standards and ALM and PLM software capabilities aligned with Hamilton Medical’s product engineering goals. The work also supports PTC’s Intelligent Product Lifecycle strategy, which connects engineering data with enterprise operations and AI-driven workflows.
