HCLTech Opens Johannesburg HQ With Plans for AI Center

The Sandton facility will showcase enterprise AI use cases and serve as a technology training hub in South Africa.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Oct 8, 2026 – HCLTech has opened a regional headquarters in Johannesburg’s Sandton district that will house an AI Center of Excellence and a technology training hub. The facility expands the company’s operations serving enterprises in South Africa and the surrounding region.

The AI Center of Excellence will showcase HCLTech’s AI portfolio: AI-led Service Transformation, Industry AI Solutions, AI Foundry, AI Engineering, AI Factory and AI Advisory.

The training hub will focus on developing technology skills in South Africa. HCLTech partners with the University of Johannesburg, the University of Pretoria and North-West University on skills development and links between education and employment.

HCLTech supported nearly 500 students from last five years (FY21-FY25), with nearly 50 participants joining the company in full-time roles. It also scheduled a graduation ceremony for learners completing its annual skills development program.

The company reports that its investments in ICT and digital literacy programs reached more than 20,000 beneficiaries across South Africa over the past five years. Through partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations and industry partners, HCLTech supports access to technology, digital skills and employment opportunities, particularly in underserved communities.
