PALO ALTO, CA, Jan 9, 2026 – Hesai Technology has been selected as the lidar partner for NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10, NVIDIA’s reference compute and sensor platform for autonomous vehicles designed to support Level 4 automated driving.

Hesai has qualified its sensors on NVIDIA’s DRIVE Hyperion architecture, joining a growing ecosystem of production-ready perception hardware. The platform supports cameras, radar, lidar, and ultrasonic sensors used to develop and validate Level 4 autonomous driving systems.

Built on two NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor SoCs using the Blackwell architecture, DRIVE Hyperion provides real-time compute for full 360-degree sensor fusion. The system exceeds 2,000 FP4 teraflops, equivalent to about 1,000 INT8 trillion operations per second.

“Everything that moves will eventually become autonomous, and DRIVE Hyperion is the backbone that makes that transition possible,” said Ali Kani, vice president of automotive at NVIDIA. “By unifying compute, sensors and safety into one open platform, we’re enabling our entire ecosystem, from automakers to AV SW ecosystem, to bring full autonomy to market faster, with the reliability and trust that mobility-at-scale demands.”

Hesai designed the ETX long-range lidar for L3 and L4 autonomous vehicles. Built on the company’s 4th generation technology platform, ETX delivers high-resolution, long-range detection in a low-profile form factor that supports roof-mounted or behind-the-windshield installation.
