NOVATO, CA, June 16, 2026 – IMSI Design announced the release of TurboCAD Mac 17. TurboCAD Mac 17 adds AI-assisted visualization and part-search tools, XREF workflow updates, refreshed interface graphics, expanded modeling functions, new rendering assets, BOM Note attributes, and stability corrections across four editions: Designer, Deluxe, Pro, and Platinum.

The release is aimed at mechanical designers, architects, and makers working with TurboCAD Mac for 2D drafting, 3D modeling, design communication, and production workflows.

Tim Olson, vice president of R&D said: “TurboCAD Mac 17 brings AI deeper into practical CAD workflows. Copilot Render and Part Finder help users move from idea to presentation and from component search to reuse with less friction, while the new modeling and XREF improvements support the precision work our customers depend on.”

Rita Buschmann, vice president of product management, CAD and Home Design added: “This release balances creative exploration with production discipline. The refreshed interface, expanded rendering assets, BOM Notes, and new geometry tools make TurboCAD Mac 17 a stronger environment for designers who need to visualize, document, and manufacture with confidence.”

New Features in TurboCAD Mac 17

Modern Interface and Theme Updates

TurboCAD Mac 17 includes refreshed SVG tool icons and light and dark mode graphics across dialogs, menus, and tool palettes. The interface updates are designed to improve clarity, contrast, and consistency on Mac displays.

XREF Workflow Improvements

TurboCAD Mac 17 adds tools for referenced-object workflows. Lightweight XREF loading uses display geometry to reduce memory use and file size by up to 10× for mechanical parts. A new “Attach Folder” function imports a folder as referenced objects positioned in place, supporting large assemblies and shared component libraries.

AI-Powered Visualization and Part Discovery

Copilot Render, available with Copilot Professional, converts 2D drawings and 3D models into visual concepts using natural-language prompts. Users can generate and compare variations, explore materials and lighting, add or modify visual elements, and apply reference images without changing the CAD geometry.

Copilot Part Finder adds natural-language search across a library of more than 770,000 CAD components, including ANSI, ISO, and DIN parts, to help engineers locate and reuse standard components.

Advanced Modeling Enhancements

TurboCAD Mac 17 adds modeling tools for complex forms. Skin Solid with Center Line creates swept solids from closed profiles along a path for pipes, rails, housings, and smooth mechanical transitions. The Pipe tool supports Rounded Rectangle, N-Sided, and Coils cross-sections, with associative geometry that updates automatically when the path is edited.

Rendering Assets and Materials

The release adds six studio backgrounds, six carbon-fiber textures, and eight wood materials for product visualization, architectural rendering, lighting tests, and material studies.

BOM Notes and Stability Refinements

New BOM Note attributes let objects carry semantic information such as notes, descriptions, functions, requirements, manufacturing details, materials, and references. Copilot can use the embedded drawing context during AI-assisted rendering and CAD-data queries. TurboCAD Mac 17 also includes corrections intended to improve stability and accuracy.

Availability and Pricing

TurboCAD Mac 17 is available in four variants:

  • Platinum – $1,499.99
  • Pro – $999.99
  • Deluxe – $399.99
  • Designer – $149.99

All variants are available as licenses or through term plans, including 1-year and 3-year options.

All TurboCAD Mac 17 purchases include a trial of TurboCAD Copilot Help, an optional plug-in powered by Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). Copilot Help provides answers drawn from documents, FAQs, video tutorials, and product guides inside the design environment. After the trial, Copilot Help is available for $99.99.

TurboCAD Copilot Professional is available as an optional plug-in. It includes Copilot Help and adds AI-powered tools for visualization, material development, part discovery, natural-language interaction with CAD data, general AI assistance, text-to-image generation, rendering scene analysis, visual reporting tools, basic text-to-CAD creation, and parametric part creation and editing.

New Copilot Professional capabilities include Copilot Render for concept imagery on top of CAD drawings and Copilot Powered Part Finder for inserting mechanical components through natural-language search. Copilot Professional is available as a 1-year term plan for $299.99 or a 3-year term plan for $899.99.

Training and PowerPack Bundles are also available for TurboCAD Mac workflows.
