NOVATO, CA, May 14, 2026 – IMSI Design released TurboCAD 2026 with more than 100 updates covering CAD performance, file compatibility, deployment, visualization and AI-powered design assistance. The release adds direct 2D PDF import, updated DWG and DXF support, new language deployment tools, and 3D modeling functions for sheet metal, lofting and solid imprint work.

Interface Updates

TurboCAD 2026 adds a Dark/Light Theme Toggle, redesigned Draw Menu and a faster Command Finder. The Command Finder uses predictive suggestions and visual icons to help users locate tools during design work.

The Drafting Palette adjusts to model changes while keeping annotations stable. Users can add or remove objects without disrupting annotation behavior. Other interface changes include clearer Start Page messaging, a Recent Commands menu and an updated WebView2 engine for HTML-based components.

Installation & Deployment

TurboCAD 2026 introduces a Unified Multi Language Installer for setup and deployment. The installer includes supported languages in a single package and lets users select an interface language during installation.

Users can change the interface language later without reinstalling the software. TurboCAD 2026 is localized in English, French and German. Additional languages are included in the installer, with updated files planned through upcoming in-app patches.

The release also changes how TurboCAD organizes images, reports and logs. A new Clean Startup mode bypasses initial dialogs for troubleshooting or controlled deployment.

File Compatibility

TurboCAD 2026 updates Teigha (ODA) libraries for DWG/DXF compatibility. It also adds direct 2D Adobe PDF import, converting PDF drawings into editable CAD geometry. New IGES options provide ODA-based and ACIS-powered import paths for engineering workflows. TurboCAD 2026 also updates native CAD translator support for SolidWorks, NX, CATIA and Solid Edge in the Platinum product.

2D, 3D & Modeling Enhancements

TurboCAD 2026 adds drafting and modeling functions for 2D/3D work. Graphic on Path places objects along curves, while the updated Split Tool supports dimension-driven segmentation.

For 3D workflows, TurboCAD 2026 adds Direct 2D Unfolding for sheet metal and an updated Unbend Tool with K-Factor control. It also adds a Closed Loft option for continuous surfaces and Imprint Projection for embedding curves or text into solids.

Rendering and Visualization

TurboCAD 2026 improves ACIS render preparation for models that use multiple face materials, with processing listed at 10–15× faster. The Visualize engine also receives updates for navigation, stability and display accuracy when users work with complex assemblies.

Copilot Render

TurboCAD 2026 adds Copilot Render through the Copilot Professional add-on. Users can describe style, lighting, materials or mood, and Copilot generates concept images over the drawing without changing the CAD geometry or leaving the workspace.

Each Copilot Render result is saved as a Copilot Named View, allowing designers to revisit earlier concepts or create new variations from them. Copilot Professional also includes Copilot-generated textures and a Part Finder for mechanical components.

The new Command Assistant interprets natural-language requests and returns relevant TurboCAD commands. Smart Help Trigger displays contextual guidance when tools are activated, while toggle-based request tabs make Copilot interactions easier to manage.

Executive Insights

“Copilot Render is a breakthrough for early‑stage visualization,” says Tim Olson, vice president of IMSI Design. “Designers can explore ideas instantly, right inside the CAD environment, without breaking their workflow. Combined with faster ACIS performance and smarter interoperability, TurboCAD 2026 delivers meaningful improvements for professional design.”

“TurboCAD 2026 delivers a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive design experience across the entire product,” says Rita Buschmann, vice president of product management, CAD and Home Design. “From the modernized interface and unified installer to improved drafting tools, smarter file handling, and major performance gains in ACIS and Visualize, this release strengthens everyday workflows for professionals. Our focus was clarity, speed, and reliability – helping users stay productive from the moment TurboCAD launches.”
