BANGKOK, Thailand, July 21, 2025 – Infineon and the Thai Embedded Systems Association (TESA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to create Thailand’s first National Secure Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) Platform. The collaboration will blend artificial intelligence (AI) with Internet of Things (IoT), to support innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of Thai industries.

The National Secure AIoT platform will support the development of smart electronics that follow newest cybersecurity standards, with a focus on key sectors in Thailand’s digital transformation. These sectors include national security, healthcare, agriculture, energy, smart cities, and Industry 4.0. The partnership will also engage local startups and academic institutions to encourage knowledge sharing and innovation in line with Thailand’s technology goals.

“We are excited to partner with TESA to create a robust and scalable AIoT platform that will pave the way for innovative solutions in Thailand. This collaboration not only underscores our dedication to driving digitalization and decarbonization but also supports the Thai government’s investments in the AI, IoT, and semiconductor sectors,” said CS Chua, president and managing director, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific.

“We are deeply honored and excited to collaborate with Infineon, a global leader in semiconductor technology, to develop Thailand’s National Secure AIoT Platform. This partnership will enable Thai engineers and developers to create innovative products from the ground up – from hardware and firmware to complete AIoT platforms. Our collaboration addresses three critical impact pillars: Security-First design aligned with international cybersecurity standards, high-value Edge AI products with advanced capabilities and secure firmware stacks, and ultimately, a National Secure AIoT Platform that will serve as the foundational infrastructure for various platform services. This will directly benefit key industries that have significant impact on Thailand, ASEAN, and the global market,” said associate professor Wiroon Sriborrirux, president, Thai Embedded Systems Association (TESA).

The collaboration supports Thailand’s objectives in technology development and innovation, with an emphasis on technology self-reliance. Using semiconductor technologies, including Edge AI, Infineon and TESA aim to build an ecosystem for secure and scalable AIoT solutions suited for the Thai market.

The signing of this MoU represents a follow-up to the earlier agreement established between Infineon and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) in February’25, strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem in Thailand and reinforcing the country’s role in the AI and IoT space.

About Thai Embedded Systems Association

The Thai Embedded Systems Association, established in 2001 and based in Thailand, serves as a national network connecting developers, companies, universities and government agencies involved in embedded systems and AIoT technologies. The association provides workshops, forums, incubators and policy support to promote innovation and collaboration across sectors. It supports more than 100 technology suppliers, over 100 product-focused small and medium-sized enterprises, and more than 20 universities. TESA serves industries such as semiconductors, smart electronics, automotive, robotics, and industrial automation. While it does not publish annual revenue figures, the organization works closely with public agencies including the Board of Investment, NECTEC and DEPA, and plays a role in funding and development initiatives through partners like the National Innovation Agency and venture capital firms. For more than two decades, TESA has supported testing, certification and startup-investor connections, contributing to Thailand’s effort to become a regional center for embedded systems development.
