TORONTO, Canada, Oct 21, 2025 – Inmotive signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huanyan DriveTech (Jiaxing) Research Institute, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Shuanghuan Driveline. The MoU sets a framework to study production of gear and differential components and assess the feasibility of manufacturing the Ingear transmission assembly for a vehicle program. Both the companies are producing components to Inmotive’s specifications and defining a model for large-scale production.

The announcement aligns with Inmotive’s global strategy to license Ingear technology and build where vehicles are sold. The model connects manufacturing partners with programs to improve cost efficiency, strengthen supply chains, and meet regional compliance.

“This MOU enables a structured evaluation of a China-market manufacturing path for an OEM customer. The goal is a flexible, region-appropriate route to production that preserves Ingear’s efficiency, shift quality, and system-level cost advantages for OEMs.” said Eric Wang, VP, applications at Inmotive.

“SHR is excited to assess manufacturability of gears and differentials to Inmotive’s specifications and evaluate feasibility for Ingear transmission assembly, leveraging SHGG’s unique manufacturing experience and capabilities.” said Rong Zhang, director of SHR & group VP of SHGG.

Production is planned to begin in late 2026, with volumes increasing annually. Inmotive and SHR will consider future agreements after the MOU review.
