QUEBEC, Canada, May 11, 2026 – InnovMetric has completed the acquisition of its German PolyWorks partner Duwe-3d, bringing nearly three decades of regional metrology expertise into its European operations. The acquisition expands InnovMetric’s technical services for manufacturers deploying the PolyWorks digital thread for dimensional inspection. while keeping existing customer and distributor contacts in place.
PolyWorks Partnership Began In 1999
Founded by Dr. Hans-Peter Duwe, Duwe-3d became the master distributor of PolyWorks in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 1999, when InnovMetric had fewer than 10 employees. Dr. Duwe later contributed to PolyWorks development for nearly three decades.
DataLoop Started From Server Concept
In 2011, Dr. Duwe and Marc Soucy, president and co-founder of InnovMetric, discussed managing 3D measurement data on a centralized server. That concept later led to PolyWorks|DataLoop, which manages dimensional inspection data within the PolyWorks environment.
Inspection Tools Support Manufacturing Workflows
Duwe-3d also developed PolyWorks products that import measurement plans, add automation tools, and support digital clamping processes. Its German team built technical expertise around customer deployment, product use, and support for manufacturing companies.
European Market Aligns Deployment Strategy
The acquisition will combine Duwe-3d’s metrology expertise with its European PolyWorks operations. PolyWorks support in Europe depends on product capability, technical teams, and access to specialists who assist manufacturers during deployment and use.
“The integration of Duwe-3d into the InnovMetric group will lay the foundation for a unified European team that will optimize our efficiency and develop consistent sales and deployment strategies for European manufacturers. This will enable us to better support our customers in their digital transformation, helping them maximize the use of measurement data at all stages of the product lifecycle,” says Marc Soucy.
“Building Duwe-3d has been one of the defining journeys of my professional life. From the beginning, the partnership with InnovMetric was built on shared values, trust, and a common vision of helping manufacturers harness the power of dimensional inspection data. Entrusting Duwe-3d to InnovMetric feels like a natural next step that ensures continuity for our customers and creates strong long-term opportunities for our employees and the PolyWorks community in Europe,” adds Dr. Hans-Peter Duwe.
