PORTLAND, OR, Aug 4, 2025 – The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) has released IntelliCAD 14.0, a release focused on performance improvements, interface upgrades, and workflow tools. A new dark theme reduces eye strain and improves focus during lengthy design sessions or in low-light environments. The update also features refreshed icons and theme options – Dark, Light, and Gray – allowing users to customize their workspace.

IntelliCAD 14.0 improves task performance for commands like Copy, Break, Move, and Union, reducing processing time for CAD operations. The release adds QR code generation using QRTEXT and QRLEADER commands. Table editing supports auto-fill, and the data extraction tool includes a filter option to refine data output.

For users working across multiple monitors, IntelliCAD supports detachable drawing windows. A transparency option for the command window adds visual flexibility when working over complex drawings.

Additional updates include support for Autodesk Revit 2025 files, SVG import, and an improved DGN import process. Users working with geospatial data will benefit from Esri imagery support in the GEO command, following the discontinuation of Microsoft Bing Maps access.

IntelliCAD 14.0 also includes API enhancements for both LISP and the .NET platform. A VLISP command launches the IntelliCAD lisp debugger inside visual studio code, and new LISP functions provide access to object properties. On the .NET side, performance has been improved for view-related functions.

“IntelliCAD 14.0 reflects our commitment to listening to real-world feedback from our members and delivering the tools they need most,” said Shawn Lindsay, president of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium. “We remain focused on providing an open, dependable platform that developers can build on – and on offering a powerful alternative in the CAD software market.”

IntelliCAD 14.0 is supported on Microsoft Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows 8, 64-bit versions. IntelliCAD mobile viewer versions are available for Windows desktop, Google Android, Apple macOS and iOS.

About IntelliCAD Technology Consortium

The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC), founded in 1999 and based in Portland, OR, is a member-driven nonprofit that develops and licenses the IntelliCAD CAD engine and development platform. The consortium provides a DWG-compatible 2D/3D CAD core to its commercial members, who build and distribute CAD solutions for industries such as architecture, engineering, civil surveying, manufacturing, and automation. Operating under a cooperative model, ITC pools R&D efforts among its members and reinvests over 75% of its revenue into core development. The platform supports millions of end users across more than 130 countries. ITC members receive access to source code, development APIs, technical support, and participate in governance, enabling them to create vertical solutions without developing a CAD engine from scratch. From its headquarters, the ITC supports independent developers in delivering cost-effective and interoperable CAD technologies worldwide.
