Kenwood UK has redesigned its approach to small kitchen appliances with the Go Collection, a series of compact, intuitive tools meant for modern living where space is limited, and convenience matters more than ever. The design team, led by Samuele Meda, created the range from scratch rather than iterating on legacy products. The goal was to meet real user needs instead of just competing with other food processors or mixers, tells Develop 3D.

New patterns in how people cook informed the project. Many users, especially younger home cooks, find large, complex machines with many attachments overwhelming. For everyday tasks such as chopping or blending, simplicity and ease count more than having a tool that can do every possible function. Kenwood’s designers framed that insight as a design mandate: products should be ready to use, easy to store, and not require reading a manual.

The resulting products are noticeably different from the brand’s classic designs. They use muted, matte colors and forms that fit contemporary kitchens. Attachments fit neatly into built-in storage spaces so users don’t have to hunt through drawers. The stand mixer, hand mixer, and food processor in the Go Collection respond to how people live today, that is, smaller spaces, fast setup, and less clutter.

Inside the design process, a mix of traditional sketching, CAD modeling, and rapid prototyping kept development fast and collaborative. Tools such as Siemens NX and Shapr3D enabled designers to explore form, function, and color early and often, while 3D printing brought physical models into the studio quickly. Meda’s team also used realistic renderings to see how products would sit in varied kitchen environments before final decisions were made.

The reception to the Go Collection has been positive among users and reviewers, showing that Kenwood’s rethink resonates. Products are easier to use and store, and they bring a fresh aesthetic that makes them feel less like appliances and more like objects people want in their homes.
