Keysight Launches Assembly Simulation for Manufacturers

Models clamping and joining workflows with stamped-part data for automotive and industrial assembly development

SANTA ROSA, CA, Apr 9, 2026 – Keysight Technologies introduced Keysight Assembly, a virtual process simulation tool that models manufacturing assembly steps earlier in development to identify potential issues before production.

Assembly failures remain a costly challenge in automotive and industrial manufacturing. Recalls and warranty claims cost U.S. automakers billions each year, with many defects only appearing during physical builds. Issues found late in production are more expensive to fix and can delay product launches.

Keysight Assembly models shop-floor processes, including part positioning, clamping, and joining through guided workflows and templates that do not require specialized finite element modeling (FEM) skills. Engineers can analyze distortion and dimensional risks before physical prototyping, reducing reliance on repeated trial builds and improving build accuracy.

Keysight Assembly integrates with its stamping simulation software, allowing engineers to carry stamped-part data from forming through assembly and compare results with pre-production scan data. The workflow connects forming and assembly, helping engineers identify variation and compare simulation with physical builds.

Mathilde Chabin, director of product management for virtual manufacturing, Keysight, said: “Engineers know the frustration of discovering distortion only after parts are on the shop floor. Traditional tools stop at part-level analysis and don’t reflect how assemblies are actually built. Keysight Assembly simulates real production workflows, so teams can see process sensitivity early, when changes are easy and inexpensive.”
