ISMANING, Germany, Feb 27, 2026 – Kontron has expanded its KPanel S industrial panel PC series with a new 21.5-inch display variant. The screen targets industrial applications that require detailed visualizations, multiple process views, and machine-level interfaces. The KPanel S is built for industrial environments and supports Intel Atom processors up to Intel Core CPUs. The configuration allows complex visualizations to run alongside background processes.
The 21.5-inch KPanel S industrial panel PC features an IP65-rated enclosure and IK06-protected hardened glass for industrial use. The metal housing uses passive cooling to support maintenance-free operation and long service life. The PCAP touchscreen supports 10-point touch, input with gloves, and drop and palm detection to reduce incorrect inputs. An anti-glare, anti-fingerprint surface maintains readability in variable lighting. The KPanel S panel PC supports multiple support arm configurations, with rear-hinged I/O access and two-stage strain relief for cable routing.
Kontron offers an optional expansion unit for machine workstation integration. The module supports additional control and signaling hardware, including switches, displays, RFID modules, and emergency stop switches.
Kontron offers the KPanel S series in multiple industrial computing configurations. The KPanel S-AML/ADN supports Intel Atom x7000(R)E series, Intel Core i3 N series, and Intel N series processors, while the KPanel S-RPL integrates 13th Gen Intel Core CPUs for compute-intensive workloads. The panel PCs support DDR5 RAM and M.2 SSD storage up to 1 TB (RAID 0/1 optional) and CF card slot.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. The KPanel S series includes two DisplayPorts, two 2.5 gigabit ethernet ports, and four USB ports, two of which support USB 3.2. On the KPanel S-AML/ADN model, one USB port has a USB-C connection. Optional features include an IP65-protected USB port on the front and a power button with status LED.
Kontron builds the KPanel S industrial panel PC series on 3.5-inch SBCs used across its panel and Box PC platforms. The hardware architecture supports software reuse and can lower maintenance effort. The model adds an HMI-focused operating option to the lineup. A scratch-resistant display design limits dirt buildup and supports cleaning in industrial production environments.
The optional QIWI toolkit enables web panel operation, while KontronOS provides a Linux-based environment for systems with cybersecurity requirements. An optional maintenance-free CMOS battery supports real-time clock functions and extended temperature ranges.
