SAN DIEGO, CA, Mar 11, 2026 – Kontron America and SiMa.ai have introduced the KBox A-151 EAI platform for industrial edge AI deployments. The KBox A-151 EAI platform integrates the SiMa.ai MLSoC Modalix accelerator using a mezzanine architecture within an industrial edge computing platform. The configuration delivers more than 50 TOPS of AI processing performance within an integrated, industrial-grade edge platform. Kontron designed the KBox A-151 EAI to support deployment in industrial and mission-critical environments.

Industrial Edge AI Platform with Integrated SiMa.ai Acceleration

Kontron designed the KBox A-151 EAI as an industrial edge AI computer for multimodal control and autonomous systems. It uses a dual-processor architecture that combines 13th Gen Intel Core or Intel Atom processors with AI inference from SiMa.ai. The architecture separates application processing from edge AI tasks. A fanless, passively cooled chassis supports deployments in industrial automation, energy, medical technology, and intelligent transportation systems.

The platform supports real-time video analytics, GenAI, LLM, LMM, and CNN models. It also supports vision pipelines and multi-sensor data processing. Engineers can deploy multimodal AI models using Palette SDK and Edgematic with standard ML frameworks.

Partnership Built for Physical AI

Kontron and SiMa.ai developed the KBox A-151 EAI for edge AI processing in physical systems. The platform processes vision, audio, and sensor data to support real-time multimodal interaction. Flexible I/O, scalable memory, and industrial certifications support deployment in industrial environments. The design integrates SiMa.ai MLSoC acceleration within an industrial edge computing platform built for sustained operation.

“Our partnership with SiMa.ai allows us to deliver not just AI capability, but a complete industrial platform that enables it to thrive. The KBox A-151 EAI ensures customers can deploy powerful edge AI with confidence, longevity, and operational reliability,” says RJ Mclaren.

Kontron America and SiMa.ai will present a live demonstration of the KBox A-151 EAI at Embedded World (Hall 3, Booth 159).
