BOISBRIAND, Canada, Apr 9, 2026 – Kontron is introducing new Cabin Wireless Access Points (CWAPs), the Cab-n-Connect A300 and Cab-n-Connect A301, as airlines push for faster, more reliable onboard connectivity. The platforms are in production and flying with airlines worldwide.
Built on Wi-Fi 7, Kontron’s CWAPs increase throughput and maintain stable performance in dense aircraft cabins, where hundreds of passenger devices connect at once. The Cab-n-Connect A300 and A301 support simultaneous multi-band operation and wireless management features that handle streaming, connected cabin services, and onboard applications on the same network.
The access points include security features and real-time RF monitoring to maintain network stability and protect onboard connectivity. Both products are built to meet aviation standards and operate under demanding aircraft conditions.
The Cab-n-Connect A300 is designed to allow customers to upgrade from earlier Cab-n-Connect versions while continuing to use existing Cab-n-Connect infrastructure, making it suitable for retrofit installations. The Cab-n-Connect A301 supports both retrofit deployments and OEM line-fit programs, including ARINC-based cabin integration.
“With the Cab-n-Connect A300 and A301, we are delivering the industry’s first cabin wireless access points with Wi-Fi 7,” said Yves Beaumont, product manager, avionics at Kontron. “Our mission is to give airlines and connectivity providers a new generation of wireless infrastructure capable of supporting higher bandwidth services while maintaining the reliability required in aviation.”
