FOUNTAIN INN, SC, Mar 25, 2026 – KYOCERA AVX is exhibiting at APEC 2026 (booth #1333) taking place between Mar 22-26 in San Antonio, Texas. The company is showcasing varistors, capacitors, and connectors designed for high-power, high-energy, and high-efficiency applications. The portfolio targets sectors including 5G, IoTmilitary and aerospacehigh-temperatureautomotiveindustrialconsumer electronics, and medical applications. Technical and sales staff are supporting the exhibit and engaging with attendees on product applications.

KYOCERA AVX 2026 APEC Exhibit highlights include:

  • KYOCERA AVX highlighted multilayer varistors, including the AMTS series advanced motor transient suppressors, designed for bidirectional transient voltage protection and EMI/RFI suppression in electric motor circuits. The devices combine zinc oxide transient voltage suppressors with temperature-stable X7R multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) in a three-leaded, epoxy-encapsulated radial package. The series meets AEC Q200 requirements and operates from -40°C to +85°C, and reducing the need for additional EMC components. The varistors support EMI filtering, surge protection, and inductive switching and load dump circuits in power supplies and DC motors used in automotive, transportation, and electric vehicle systems.
  • KYOCERA AVX also showcased MLCCs designed for low parasitics, EMI filtering, and high capacitance across a wide temperature range. The components are available in chip, leaded, stacked, and custom geometries. The company highlighted its 550/560 Series ultra-broadband capacitors (UBCs), including recently introduced four part numbers for optical communication systems. The devices support RF/microwave performance from 7kHz to 110GHz, with low insertion loss, flat frequency response, and stable return loss. They are available in EIA 01005, 0201, and 0402 cases, with capacitance values from 1–220nF with ±10–100% capacitance tolerance, voltage ratings up to 100V, and operating temperatures from -55°C to +125°C. The capacitors support DC blocking, AC coupling, bypassing, and feedback functions in high-speed, ultra-broadband microwave and millimeter wave (mmWave) optical communication systems.
  • KYOCERA AVX also highlighted conductive, low-profile solid electrolytic polymer capacitors that are lead- and halogen-free. The components provide stable, high capacitance, low equivalent series resistance, and a failure mode under recommended operating conditions.
  • Aluminum electrolytic chip capacitors provide high capacitance, long operating life, and low ESR. The portfolio also includes conductive polymer and hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors to handle ripple currents, inrush currents, and high operating temperatures.
  • Supercapacitors, or double-layer capacitors, provide high pulse power and high capacitance density.
  • KYOCERA AVX also presented connectors based on contact technology for harsh environments, including the 9288-000 series hermaphroditic wire-to-wire (WTW) and wire-to-board (WTB) connectors for lighting and industrial applications. The two-piece design uses identical mating halves for WTW connections, simplifying BoMs, and supports WTB termination with a SMT version. The connectors use glass-filled PBT insulators with plastic latches for mechanical retention and poke-home contacts for tool-free wire termination. Phosphor bronze contacts with tin-over-nickel plating support durable electrical connections. The 9288-000 series is available with 2–4 contacts on a 5mm pitch and supports 16–18AWG wire. The connectors are rated 6A (18AWG) or 7A (16AWG), 600VACRMS or the DC equivalent and operate from -40°C to +125°C.. They support up to 20 mating cycles, three wire replacement cycles, UL approved, RoHS compliant, and available in tape and reel or bulk packaging.
