GRENOBLE, France, Jan 20, 2026 – LYNRED has launched YOCTO, a family of uncooled thermal sensors built on an 8.5µm pixel pitch microbolometer. The first model, YOCTO1024, is set to debut at SHOT Show 2026, scheduled for Jan. 20 to 23 in Las Vegas (booth #43557).

With YOCTO, LYNRED increases resolution in uncooled thermal imaging by packing 2.5 times more pixels into a sensor footprint comparable to VGA 12 µm sensor. The YOCTO1024 uses an XGA format (1024×768) to deliver imagery without compromising thermal performance. The pixel density improves DRI (Detection, Recognition, and Identification) performance by up to 40%, equivalent to a x1.4 magnification.

YOCTO1024 applies VOx technology optimized for the LWIR spectrum to reduce sensor size without changing format. With dimensions of 18 × 18 × 4.85 mm³, the design reduces footprint by up to 40% compared to XGA 12 µm sensors, supporting compact thermal imaging systems.

YOCTO1024 supports leisure, hunting, defense, and surveillance uses, ranging from riflescopes, monoculars and binoculars to drones, handheld thermal imagers and fixed observation systems. The design aligns with demand for compact, lightweight thermal devices while maintaining long-range detection and image quality.

LYNRED differentiates itself in the microbolometer market by retaining control over detector design and manufacturing within the European Union. The YOCTO range complements the existing 12 µm ATTO product line. Combined, the two product families give system integrators flexibility to design competitive, high-performance thermal imaging systems.

“With the YOCTO family, we take a decisive step forward by delivering uncooled thermal sensors optimized for high-volume production and miniaturization, while preserving performance”, explains Hervé Bouaziz, executive president at LYNRED. “This new generation enables our customers to push the limits of system design and remain at the forefront of thermal imaging technology.”

LYNRED plans to introduce a YOCTO1024 module to simplify system integration. The module is expected to reduce development timelines and extend infrared adoption across applications.

About SHOT Show 2026

SHOT Show 2026 is an annual trade exhibition serving the shooting sports, hunting, outdoor recreation, and firearm manufacturing industries. The event is organized by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, founded in 1961 and headquartered in Newtown, CT. SHOT Show was first held in 1979 and has since become a recurring industry event. It takes place in Las Vegas, NV, using large convention venues to host exhibitors and attendees. The show features commercial firearms, ammunition, optics, accessories, outdoor equipment, and related services. Its attendees include manufacturers, distributors, retailers, product designers, and commercial buyers. The event also attracts law enforcement, military procurement officials, and government representatives. SHOT Show operates as a B2B event and is not open to the general public. Exhibitors use the show to present products, conduct meetings, and manage supply relationships. Attendees represent companies and agencies from domestic and international markets.
