GREENSBORO, NC, July 9, 2026 – Mack Trucks is adding a Lock & Leave function to Mack Over-the-Air so eligible software updates can be downloaded after a driver starts the update, locks the truck and leaves.

The feature is expected to become available this fall after final validation. Mack said it is designed for updates during normal downtime, including the end of a shift, a break or overnight.

A driver starts an update through Driver Display Activation, exits the truck and locks it. The truck stays powered on only long enough to install the update, then shuts down. In a shop, a technician can start updates on multiple trucks without returning to each vehicle.

“Mack customers measure success by how much time their trucks spend on the road,” said Jonathan Randall, president, Mack Trucks North America. “Lock & Leave removes another barrier to remote software updates. Drivers can start the update, finish their day, and let the truck take care of the rest.”

Mack OTA allows software and parameter updates to be completed from the truck without a dealership visit. Over the past 12 months, Mack has completed more than 50,000 remote updates with a 99.99% success rate.

Mack Over-the-Air includes:

  • Remote software and parameter updates delivered to the truck
  • Driver Display Activation without a laptop, dongles, cables or a dealership visit
  • AutoSend software delivery for updates during planned downtime
  • Deployment support across thousands of connected vehicles
  • Support from Mack connected vehicle experts
  • Lock & Leave for unattended completion of eligible remote updates

Lock & Leave will roll out first on Mack’s newest models: the Mack Pioneer, Mack Anthem, Mack Granite and Mack Keystone.
