LAS VEGAS, NV, Mar 5, 2026 – Mack Trucks has introduced Mack CommandView, a suite of onboard technologies for truck situational awareness and fleet operations. CommandView helps drivers monitor blind spots and maneuver vehicles in varied operating environments.

Mack announced the technology at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2026. The system will be available for order on the Mack Granite model in late 2027.

“Mack customers told us about the many challenges they face when on a jobsite, whether they’re blind spot issues or just maneuvering around other vehicles and objects,” said Nicole Portello, senior vice president and chief digital officer of Mack Trucks. “Every job site comes with a different set of challenges. We listened to customer input, and we’re now delivering technology that helps improve safety and productivity through CommandView – setting the stage for what’s next in connected vehicle technology.”

Mack CommandView uses a 360-degree camera system to provide visibility around the truck. Multiple cameras combine into a single bird’s-eye view that reduces blind spots created by long hoods, high ground clearance, and vocational body layouts.

Side-view cameras activate automatically with turn signals and support lateral visibility during lane changes. The cameras reduce the risk of side-swipe incidents and contact with pedestrians, equipment, or property. The camera setup helps drivers operate trucks in congested jobsites, urban corridors, and busy loading zones, leading to lower accident-related costs.

“Safety is the No. 1 priority at CRH,” said Sam Dougherty, fleet manager of the mid-south region’s architectural product group. “When we want to innovate in safety, we want it to actually make a difference.

“We want impactful safety measures. Any tool that we can give our drivers to be more safe, that’s a win. Mack has been the vocational truck of choice. It’s more than just selling us a truck. We rely on them to keep our fleet going.”

CommandView syncs camera views with vehicle controls and adjusts camera perspectives based on gear selection. The system provides forward, rear, and side visibility while the truck operates. Sensors trigger audio and visual alerts when people or objects appear nearby. Sensor data overlays on live camera feeds during truck operation. CommandView records event-based video automatically or manually and stores footage in the cloud. Overload alerts and compliance safeguards help protect equipment and reduce unplanned maintenance events.

“Safety, uptime and predictability are central to the success of our customers’ businesses,” said Ashish Sadhu, Mack director of services. “CommandView supports our customers’ needs by pairing intelligent sensing with intuitive driver-centric design.”

Mack CommandView provides real-time payload data through an onboard weighing system compatible with all axle configurations. Operators can monitor payloads and manage weight compliance without relying on external scales. Integrated navigation selects available routes and can reduce detours to CAT scales, increasing productivity.

CommandView provides payload information in the cab and through roof-mounted LED indicators to support coordination between drivers and loader operators during loading cycles. Integrated truck-specific navigation selects available routes, while automated digital job summaries record cycle data, timestamps, and payload details. These functions combine payload monitoring, navigation, and job record data within the Mack CommandView platform for fleet operations.
